Over the years, I have learned
that it is always wise
to ask my body directly
to find out what feels true for her.
This time, my curiosity
is drawn to ask my body
whether she feels wanted
and to listen to any wisdom
she might have for me.
I start with my feet and ask:
“Do you feel wanted?”
My feet respond:
“We feel wanted by the earth!”
My toes spread across the surface of our planet
and I feel wanted through my feet.
I ask my belly:
“Do you feel wanted?”
My belly responds:
“I feel wanted by the molten core below!”
My belly sends a big tap root down
and I feel wanted through my belly.
I ask my lungs:
“Do you feel wanted?”
My lungs respond:
“We feel wanted by the breath!”
My lungs spread like eagle wings
and I feel wanted through my lungs.
I ask my blood:
“Do you feel wanted?”
My blood responds:
“We feel wanted by the heart beat!”
My blood dances to this ancient drum
and I feel wanted through my blood.
I ask my skin:
“Do you feel wanted?”
My skin responds:
“I feel wanted by the sunlight.”
My skin opens it’s pores like flower pedals
and I feel wanted through my skin.
I ask my whole body:
“Do you feel wanted?”
My body responds:
“I feel wanted by you!”
My body softens and leans into me.
Now, I feel wanted through my whole body.
